Position Summary:

The Manager of Employer Sales is responsible for oversight of training and coaching all large group account executives to perform in a consultative and sales capacity to new sale fully insured and self-funded employer group business to meet the annual sales goals, consistent with Health Alliance and the System strategic marketing plan. This position provides ongoing feedback to the Director and VP regarding training and development needs, market conditions, competitive information, sales tactics, broker relationships and metrics within the sales process. This position is responsible for the day to day management of all aspects of the large employer group relationship and the sales process.






Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Related Field
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Health insurance producer's license in Iowa and Illinois required. Valid Illinois Driver's License. Proof of insurance.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 5 years progressive sales experience and ideally, a minimum of two years supervisory or management experience. Candidate should have knowledge, and ideally experience in health insurance, managed health care or employee benefits. Experience in working with various channels of distribution.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Highly organized and disciplined in managing time, people and projects. Ability to weigh conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to take concepts and ideas, and parlay them into an effective plan that generates results. Ability to identify individual areas of motivation and strength within the sales team, and further develop these strengths to generate results. Highly developed communication skills to sell internal and external *customers*. P.C. skills, Word, Excel and CRM familiarity.






Essential Functions:


Recruits, develops, supervises and mentors staff. Initiates personnel actions for hires, promotions, discharges, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures. Resolves work related issues, or assists employees in solving work related issues.
Trains staff utilizing negotiation, consultation and presentation skills in addition to inter-organizational knowledge of Health Alliance departments, functions and interactions with Marketing Department to meet staff daily needs.
Develops and maintains relationships with brokers, agents and consultants. Responsible for the overall day to day functions related to sales and renewal of large group fully insured and self-funded commercial group business.
Assists in the development of annual department goal and continuously monitors performance.
Develops strategy and tactics to encompass overall commercial group service including scheduled client meetings and account service standards. Develops work flow processes and improvements. Develops, monitors and assists with execution of the service metrics with employer groups. Develops and implements account service team visits to larger employer groups.
Assists the Director and VP with market strategy, budget review and other projects as needed. Develops strategic marketing plans. Follows, analyzes and reports data regarding market trends and competition.

Collates and distributes changes in client's needs and expectations and assists in development of products and services to meet client needs.
Assists with education and introduction of new products.
